The lift doors close and its you with 2 girls and a guy in. You work in the same office and you surely know them if only by face -- because you are caught with them in the same lift 3 times in 10 days. But you never know them - what if i smile and they dont? I never have any business with them so why bother? or such other ideas prevent us from flashing a smile or getting introduced. this manifests into a typical behaviour of scanning the cell phone for messages inspite of knowing very well that there will be no cell signal in the lift or looking up at the floor indicator as if looking at it is going to make it move faster or simply looking at the door as if 2 hands will pop out any second.....
So many situations similar to this when we dont take that first step, that first "Hi" , that first smile thus missing what could have been the beginning of a relationship or journey which could have reached an interesting conclusion -- we will never know because we never started.
Pictures always drive home the point better so here is an interesting Video -- which will inspire us to say that "Hi" the next time :-)
